How It All Started

The Essence of Harmony Choral Society was born out of a vision to celebrate the richness of choral music while shining a light on composers and arrangers whose voices have historically been underrepresented. Founded by Cherisse R. Bonefont in 2019, the choir began as a small group of singers united by a passion for creating music that uplifts, inspires, and educates. What started as a community of voices gathering to share in song has grown into a thriving choral society dedicated to artistic excellence, diversity, inclusivity, and service through music.

Our mission is to bring people together through song, fostering understanding and unity by performing music that reflects a wide range of cultural traditions. Through concerts, educational programs, and community outreach, we seek to inspire audiences, nurture singers of all ages, and use music as a bridge that uplifts and connects.

Vision
We envision a community where voices join in harmony to celebrate diversity, promote creativity, and spark meaningful dialogue. By sharing powerful stories through music, we aim to enrich lives, cultivate appreciation for a broad spectrum of choral traditions, and ensure that future generations experience the transformative power of the arts.
