EHCS Presents: Joy! A Soulful Celebration of the Season

The Essence of Harmony Choral Society (EHCS) will present its 2nd annual holiday concert on Saturday, December 3 at 4:00. The Choir is conducted by Cherisse R. Bonefont.  

The centerpiece of the concert will be a presentation of Joy! A Soulful Celebration of the Season. The 50-minute Gospel-style celebration was arranged and orchestrated by Dave Williamson and includes specially arranged versions of Joyful, Joyful, My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord and Go tell it on the Mountain. In addition, the concert will consist of other holiday favorites and features the chorus, along with guest soloists, narrator, and orchestra. The celebration promises to be “uplifting, energizing and revitalizing…a place of love. A place of celebration. A place of joy.” 

The Essence of Harmony Choral Society was formed in 2018 by Cherisse Bonefont. The Choir was born from a need she saw to create the presence of space for and a medium through which singers of all skill levels can share their musical gifts with the Burlington County community at large. This diverse group of singers has a cohesive and creative performance style. 

EHCS focuses explicitly on celebrating the works of both classical and under-recognized African-American composers. In addition, the group presents classics and anthems, spirituals, and contemporary gospel music.
